Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother, while Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox took classes in piano, flute and harpsichord in the Royal Academy of Music London for three years in the 70s. Lennox lived on a student allowance and took off on a part-time job to supplement her budget. Lennox did not feel satisfied with the level of her abilities compared to the other students at the Royal Academy and began looking at other options. Lennox was initially a flute-player with the group Dragons Playground. But she quit shortly before New Faces, the I.T.V. talent contest. The singer was the primary voice for The Tourists a British pop band between 1977 and 1980. That was also where she came across Dave Stewart with whom she would form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox was working on her own first album Diva. The album was released in 1993. It became a huge success both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs six-album solo that was released in October 2014 included Nostalgia Lennox. The C.D. includes a collection of Lennoxs most loved blues and soul tunes from her upbringing. In addition in May 2019 Lennox has released Lepidoptera which is a compilation of four piano pieces that she improvised. The E.P. Her first album, Now I Letting You Go... It is the soundtrack to her exhibit of art at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. Annie Lennox is a Scottish musician and singer who was born on the 25th of December 1954. At the end of the 70s, Lennox gained some not-so-great fame while the lead singer of The Tourists. She and Dave Stewart then gained international recognition in the 80s as Eurythmics. Lennox began her solo career in 1992 when she released the album of Diva that featured a number of successful songs such as Why and Walking on Broken Glass. Medusa her 1995 studio album includes cover versions of tracks such asNo MoreI I Love Yous and A Whiter Shade of Pale. The singer has recorded six solo studio albums as well as a compilation album to her credit. |
